Master Cleanse Diet Review - Why's, Do's and Dont's

diet

Avid dieters in the world should have known the definition of Lemonade diet a.k.a Master Cleanse diet. In a nutshell, it's a diet that require you to drink lemonade drink, tea and salt water in order to cleanse your body from toxins and eventually fat.

Since it's a diet that requires fasting, many dieters have vouched against the master cleanse diet. Most of the reasons behind this hatred against master cleanse diet are:

1. You will just lose water weight not fat. 2. Your body will lack severely of nutrition. 3. You will probably gain your weight right away after your fasting period is over.

However not all dieters are created equal. For some dieters, like me, weight loss is a matter of life and death in some situations. Sometime we need to get slim quick in order to save our faces in community events or other personal reasons. That's why this fasting diet is still popular although many dieticians have vouched against it. Few people understand that weight loss is sometimes we want to trade with short term suffering.

Beyonce Knowles herself has undertaken this diet in order to get her shaped up for Dreamgirls filming. And with Beyonce telling Oprah that she used this diet, this diet is getting more and more popular.

So I began my fasting in accordance with the diet, and although it was hard but I experienced 10 pounds decrease in approximately 2 weeks.

Here's the Do's and Dont's for master cleanse diet.

Do's:

-Eat raw vegetables and fruits if your hunger is unbearable.

-Eat a little supply of carbohydrate twice in a week fasting. (Baked potato, brown rice, sushi)

-Drink your laxative tea in the night regularly.

-Drink approx 4 glasses of water everyday. You need water to make sure you don't face dehydration.

-Use freshly squeezed lemon juice.

-Focus on cleansing your body from toxins and weight loss will come naturally.

Dont's:

-Drink the saltwater beverage that the diet requires you to. The reason is that the saltwater can threaten your body metabolism by forcing you to excrete more water. Laxative tea is already enough.

-Undertake heavy exercise that force you to sweat a lot.

-Drink the lemonade two times more than you drink the water.

-Mix this diet with cabbage soup diet or other fad diet.

-Eat high sugary snacks during the diet.

-Focus on losing weight during the fasting, you will end up starving yourself more than ever.

-Eat too much after your fasting period. Adjust your eating portion gradually.

-Don't do this diet for more than 2 weeks without resting.

By following the do's and dont's that I mentioned above you should be able to succeed in the master cleanse diet. And always remember that the purpose is to cleanse your body, don't worry about weight loss. It will come naturally together with the cleansing.

Good luck and happy dieting!

How Many Calories Do I Need in Order to Lose Weight?

Lose Weight

When it comes to how many calories you should be consuming, the trouble is, there's really no definitive answer.

Sure, we need calories to be healthy, but how much is too much and how little is too little?

Finding the Right Balance

When it comes to calorie consumption, it's important that you also have the proper balance of nutrition.

Calories are what give our body the needed energy to get through the day. This energy can come in the form of protein, carbohydrates, cholesterol, and fat. Depending on what foods we eat, calories are either used as energy, or stored away as excess body fat.

If you are trying to lose weight, the first option is usually best. Rather than being stored away as excess body fat, you want the calories you take in to be used to fuel your metabolism. Here's how to do this...

Think of Fat as Your Friend, Not as Your Enemy

Healthy fats are actually a necessity if you are going to maintain a steady metabolism.

Fat has gotten a bad rep over the years, with many people blaming the nutrient for their widening waistlines. Instead of blaming fat altogether, it's the bad fats that can lead to dieting disasters.

Most of these are unhealthy trans fats that come in the form of junk food like potato chips and French fries. They are also the fats that can raise your cholesterol significantly.

Despite popular belief, your body actually needs fat in order to be healthy. Good fats are also a critical nutrient in the weight loss process.

Good fats are also known as unsaturated fats, and are the good guys that can help lower your cholesterol, and that can help keep your metabolism steady.

In addition to these benefits, good fats can also help control hunger, can store energy, and are a carrier of vitamins.

The Role Protein Plays

To keep your calorie count in check, it's important that you consume protein through a healthy diet. Of all the nutrients your body needs, protein is the most vital.

Not only is it responsible for building and maintaining all of your body's structures, but it's an important nutrient for your metabolism.

The process of burning body fat requires the presence of carbohydrates. If there is insufficient carbohydrates and protein in the food you eat, your body will actually break down your lean body tissues for protein, and converts them into carbohydrates for energy.

This is why eating the right amount of calories is so important. Extremely low-calorie diets are often unhealthy, simply because they don't give your body the needed nutrition it needs.

When you are on a diet, you should be consuming between 1100-1400 calories per day. This is not for certain though, as you may need to eat more or less depending on your age, height, weight and gender.

You won't get a definitive answer unless you consult with your physician, or a weight loss specialist. Before starting any diet, just always make sure that you eat well-balanced meals.

10 Foods NOT to eat on a Veggie Diet from Kardena's Kitchen

Get your FREE 7-day Vegetarian Meal Plan from: www.KardenasKitchen.com Plus, you'll discover the 10 foods NOT to eat on a weight loss diet. These are a couple of items on my list of 10 foods NOT to eat if you are following a vegetarian weight loss diet. The first thing is something that many people like to have in the morning and that is a protein shake. They look very healthy, but what is interesting about these is they have too much sugar per serving. There are usually 2 servings in each bottle, so you are eating way too much sugar. Read the labels for these. Another product I've found is a protein shake with greens. Although I love greens, this shake is loaded with sugar. The greens are great, but I dont like them in this form of a protein drink. Protein or breakfast bars are next and tend to be loaded with sugars. They need to add binders and extra sugars to them for taste and that translates into more sugar. For example, a Kashi bar does have a good amount of protein, however, the sugar count is higher than the protein count. You need to read the labels on these. Next is whole wheat bread. All bread is made of wheat, but what you want to watch out for is even if it says its whole wheat, it may be just glorified flour. A great test to see if it is whole wheat is to ball up a slice in your hand. If it holds the ball, that is a great indicator that it is not whole wheat. This doughy ball will turn into sugar very quickly after you eat it. When it turns into sugar in ...

Diet Plan That Works - Healthier Eating Without Restrictions

diet

Create A Healthy Diet Plan

A diet plan that works is generally not one that brings tons of weight off in a week or ones that restrict certain classes of substances, such as carbohydrates or proteins, etc. Certain diet plans may take off weight, but for the body to get all the right combination of vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino acids, water, macronutrients, micronutrients, phytonutrients, antioxidants that are in our foods, we cannot restrict our diets to the point of depriving our bodies of certain food classes. A good diet plan is healthier eating without restrictions. Without restrictions meaning you can eat foods from any category class such as meats, dairy, grains and such. It does not relate to quantity restriction as obviously, you cannot overeat in any class. If you look at the pyramid photo, you can see the recommended servings per day in each category or class. This is the basis for creating a diet plan that will work.

Simplify A Diet Plan That Works For You

To create a diet plan that will work for you, you can break down the pyramid into a template of sorts, which can simplify your diet plan and allow you to simply put in different food choices each day from the different categories required. It will ensure healthier eating without restrictions of any food category. Here is an example, but you can move things around to fit your schedule or lifestyle. Example is based on the lower serving range requirements. Also, remember that the average person needs about 8 glasses of water per day.

Recommended servings per day in these categories/classes. ( pyramid -showing serving recommendations).

Breakfast: 3 grain choices and 1 fruit. [Oatmeal, toast, fruit juice (no added sugar)]

Mid morning snack: 1 dairy, 1 grain. [Yogurt sprinkled with granola].

Lunch: 2 grain, 1 meat, 1 dairy, 2 vegetable [Whole sandwich (2 servings grains), roast beef, lettuce, tomato, other (olives, peperoncini, onion, green pepper if desired) and slice of cheese].

Afternoon snack: 1 fruit [Apple]

Dinner: 1 meat, 1 vegetable, 1 grain [Chicken, whole grain rice, green beans].

I don't generally put the fats, oils, sweets in my template as we seem to get those without even trying. You can also replace a meal (or 2 if using shake to lose weight) in the template with the Herbalife Nutritional Shake if you are using those to increase your health and nutrition. If you are an older man or woman who is sedentary, then you will want to stay closer to the low end of these serving ranges to be closer to what your body needs in calories and nutrients. If you are older, but fairly active, then you could probably try somewhere in the middle, then adjust as needed. If you are young and active or male, you may need to be on higher end of the serving range to maintain weight and get adequate nutrition. Everyone is different and you may need to adjust the amount of servings and use portion control to fit your body type and goals. It is recommended that before you begin any dietary changes, you discuss these with your physician.

Work Your Diet Plan

This is a general framework for you to set up your own diet plan that works. It can help you to develop the lifestyle changes needed in your dietary pattern to help you lose and maintain a healthy weight in a more enjoyable manner as well as provide you with healthier eating without restrictions.

Chocolate, Cheese, Meat, and Sugar -- Physically Addictive

Neal Barnard MD discusses the science behind food additions. Willpower is not to blame: chocolate, cheese, meat, and sugar release opiate-like substances. Dr. Barnard also discusses how industry, aided by government, exploits these natural cravings, pushing us to eat more and more unhealthy foods. A plant-based diet is the solution to avoid many of these problems. Neal Barnard is the founder of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). This is Dr. Barnard's COMPLETE presentation from the VegSource HEALTHY LIFESTYLE EXPO 2003. To get a copy of this talk on DVD and many others, visit the VegSource store, see secure2.vegsource.com
